WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF PILATES FOR PREGNANCY?

During such a transformative time, Pilates offers an enormous range of benefits for pregnant women and their growing baby.

Using the full range of Pilates Method equipment and exercises including Matwork, Reformer, Pilates Chair, Arc and more, these controlled, low-impact movements provide deep strength, improved flexibility, and enhance overall postural alignment in a way that is specifically tailored to your pregnancy needs.

You’ll not only grow stronger and more mobile, you’ll also help to reduce or prevent common pregnancy-related discomforts like back pain and pelvic instability and feel ready for labour and the parenting journey beyond! Together we will help optimise the positioning of your baby in utero through improvements to your alignment to assist with a smooth labour and the very best start to your post natal recovery too.

The Pilates method also focuses on a range of specific breathing techniques that will improve your pelvic floor functioning promote relaxation and stress reduction.

Group Pregnancy Classes

Look out for our dedicated Pregnancy Pilates group classes on our classes timetable titled Pregnancy Apparatus and Pregnancy Reformer. Within Pregnancy Apparatus Classes you’ll use a selection of Pilates equipment such as the Pilates Char, Arc, Fitball and Matwork. You’re also welcome to attend our Barre Attack classes which are Pregnancy appropriate too and are excellent for whole body strength and conditioning as well as the addition of cardiovascular options too. Pregnancy appropriate group classes are easily recognisable with the (P) at the end of the class title.

The best way to get started is with our Pregnancy Pilates Introductory Pass. This pass gives you two weeks of unlimited group Pregnancy classes for $75.

PRIVATE aND SMALL GROUP Pregnancy STUDIO APPOINTMENTS

Your Pregnancy specific Studio Pilates appointments will use a variety of Pilates equipment including the Reformer, Cadillac, Pilates Chair, Barrels, Matwork, Fitball as well as and other small props to tailor your exercise program to your needs.

Your instructor will start with a thorough assessment process where we will undertake a full history and dynamic movement testing process. From there you will move through individually tailored Pilates programs under the full guidance and supervision of your instructor in either a private or small group setting.

If you’re experiencing any specific Pregnancy injuries or complications such as major SIJ pain, pubis symphysis dysfunction, placenta previa, plantar fasciitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, pelvic or back pain then Studio Pilates appointments aer the best for you and the results are incredible due to how specific with exercise prescription we can be for you.

The best way to get started is with our Pregnancy Pilates Studio Introductory Pass. You’ll begin with an Advanced Assessment Initial Consultation (allow 90 minutes) and complete a further two private appointments (60 minutes) with your personalised Pilates instructor. The cost of this pass is $284.

HOW TO START post natal PILATES

HOW TO START POST NATAL PILATES

Group Classes

If your post natal journey is progressing as expected without any major complications and you’re just looking to start rebuilding your deep strength and taking some much needed time out for yourself where you can reconnect to your body again, the best place to start is with our Pilates Fundamentals classes on the Matwork, Reformer, Chair or Arc. After you have tried the Fundamentals level and feel ready to progress you can move freely into the other group class levels too where your instructor will be able to continue to modify the classes to suit your needs.

The best way to get started is with our Post Natal Pilates Introductory Pass. This pass gives you two weeks of unlimited group Pilates classes for $75.

PRIVATE aND SMALL GROUP APPOINTMENTS

Whether you have experienced post natal or birth complications or trauma or you’re just looking for the very best and most individualised approach to Pilates body conditioning, these Post Natal Studio Pilates appointments are for you.

Your Post Natal specific Studio Pilates appointments will use a variety of Pilates equipment including the Reformer, Cadillac, Pilates Chair, Barrels, Matwork, Fitball as well as and other small props to tailor your exercise program to your needs.

Your instructor will start with a thorough assessment process where we will undertake a full history and dynamic movement testing process. From there you will move through individually tailored Pilates programs under the full guidance and supervision of your instructor in either a private or small group setting.

We can help with pelvic floor dysfunction, prolapse, pelvic pain, postural alignment and balance in collaboration with your women’s health physio or other allied heath therapist.
